Update #2

So much for needing the doctor! My water ended up breaking on its own about 15 minutes before the doctor arrived. When he checked me, he said I was 4cm dilated and 75% effaced.

After my water broke, my contractions started picking up to every 3-4 minutes. At first, they were pretty tolerable, but they got tough soon after. Owen was having some late decels, so they gave me oxygen, which seemed to help a lot.

At one point, the contractions became too much to handle, so I ordered my epidural. Oh my God, this thing is heaven! At first, only my right side was numb, but my left soon followed. I am completely in love!

I just got checked again about 20 minutes ago and I am now 6cm! But I'm still at -2 station, so I may have a ways to go still.

Whoohoo!! Go you! And Owen!! Sounds like he's well on his way! I think that you have to be ~4cm for pitocin so if it gets to be too unbearable...well you know! :D Best of luck and I have a feeling he will be here sooner than you think!!

I am pretty sure that you will progress fast and pop little Owen out in now time at all. My cousin went in to be induced when she was 3cm dilated and a week overdue. She went in at 8am and had the baby at 1:30pm. I am thinking of you today.. and I keep checking back for updates. I am so excited for you. Today is going to be the beginning of a new chapter of your life!!
