* I recently joined 2 moms groups, and have been nervous about going since I'm so shy. I finally decided to do it today, and when I showed up, no one was there! Granted, I was about 15 minutes late, but I would have to think they still would've been there. It was about an hour roundtrip of driving. That sucked.

* I picked Steve up for lunch today on the way back from said failed meetup. When we came home, Steve's dad was in our house. He's working on building shelves in the garage, and had come in to use the bathroom, but it was a little freaky having someone in our house.

* Owen cut his finger today on our tape measure. We're in the market for a new couch, so we were measuring the room, and Owen grabbed onto the tape measure. He played with it for a minute, and when I took it away from him, I noticed his finger was bleeding. It didn't bother him any, so I just washed it and Steve put a giant bandaid on it.

* I put another bandaid on Owen's finger because he bled through the first one, and he almost swallowed it! We were at the furniture store, and Steve grabbed it just in time.

* We really want to get a sectional couch, but we don't really have the room because our living room isn't wide enough. We went to a furniture store and saw this:

Isn't that funky? It's totally weird, but we love it. We're currently trying to figure out if it will work in our house.

* That's totally weird about Heath Ledger. I wasn't particularly a fan or anything, but he's not one of the ones I'd peg to die young.

* Kellie Pickler was on Ellen today. They played a clip of her on "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" and good Lord, was she an idiot. I'm not trying to act like I'm a genius or anything, but it is generally known that Europe is a continent, not a country. Yikes.

Bang bang!

* I actually woke up pretty easily this morning for my doctor's appointment. Not bad for someone who is dead to the world before 10am. I think I spent more time changing my address, phone number, and insurance information than I did with the actual doctor, which is par for the course. He didn't like the look of one of the bumps on my chest, so I have to wait a couple of weeks to get the referral to see a dermatologist. Stupid HMO.

* I went to Gymboree after getting back from the doctor's and ended up buying all of the items I listed in my last post, woo hoo! I spent $125 without the Gymbucks, which I think is the most I've ever spent in one trip there. I realize that I could've waited a month or so for it all to go on sale, but I had Gymbucks to burn, so I did it all now. I was smart and got each outfit in a different size so that he could wear the line for a long time. The little two-piece green outfit is 6-12 months, the top and overalls is 12-18 months, and the long-sleeved shirt and cargo pants are 18-24 months.

* The potato soup ended up being pretty tasty! I didn't like the smell of the dill weed (anyone else think of Beavis and Butthead when they hear those words?), so I thought the soup was going to taste like ass, but after I put in some salt and shredded cheddar cheese, it was quite tasty. Steve had two huge bowls of it, so it was a success, hooray!

* I could swear that Owen called me Mama today. He was lying on his bear rug, and I was standing up next to the couch, putting my hair into a ponytail. I was looking away from him, and he was whining a little bit, when all of a sudden, I heard him say "Mama," clear as day. Crazy!

* Poor Owen got kinda burned by his bath tonight. I crank the kitchen faucet to the hottest setting so that the water could heat up faster, and when Owen was sitting in his bath seat, his foot touched the stream. I was in the bathroom (Steve was with him), and I heard the most awful scream from him. He was fine a minute later, but I felt bad for the poor little guy, he sounded like he was in a lot of pain. There was no redness though, so Steve thinks it probably scared him more than anything.

* Going to get my hair cut tomorrow, eek! I don't know why I'm so nervous. It's only hair; it will grow out if I hate it.

Oh you evil Gymboree! As some of you may know, today is the first day of Gymbucks redemption, and to commemorate this event, Gymboree has put out their new lines. And you know what they have for baby boys? DINOSAURS!!! I swear, I just need to get a job there so I can blow my entire paycheck there.

Oh sh!t, mommy's gonna do some shopping! )

I had my 31 week appointment, and all looks well! I gained another 4 pounds, so I'm up about 22 pounds overall right now. My blood pressure was 120/72, which is a little high for me (I'm usually 110/70), but I'm not going to stress about it. Owen's heartbeat was found right away, right under my belly button (I hope that means he's head down!), beating very strongly. I go back in another two weeks, and then again two weeks after that. When I hit 36 weeks, I'll be having doctor's appointments every week!

After my appointment, I headed over to the mall to do some shopping for me. I actually ended up finding this cute kimono top at JCPenney, and a brown cami to go underneath it. Unfortunately, they don't have a picture on the website of the one that I bought. I plan on wearing it tomorrow night at Casino Night, and then I'll probably wear it again at Steve's work shower. I also popped into Motherhood and bought some nursing essentials. I got a pair of nursing pajamas, a nursing tank, and a nursing sleep bra. I've heard really good things about the Bravada nursing bra, and I think the nearest retailer to me is at the hospital, so I'm going to have to head over there and get a couple.

Tonight is game 5 of the series between the Ducks and the Minnesota Wild. I was hoping we'd sweep them in 4, but it's nice for them to come home and win. They'd just better win tonight.

Tomorrow night is Casino Night, yay! It's the annual fundraiser at Steve's work for book grants. We go every year and have a blast! They give away raffle prizes at the end of the night, and we always end up with at least one basket of stuff. One year, we won 5 times! Steve is the resident poker dealer (of course), even though they bring in a company to deal all the other table games, so he's in the living room right now, sorting all of his chips.

I haven't picked out an outfit for Owen to come home in yet, and truth be told, I have no idea what I should put him in. Do I buy a special outfit to be used for the sole purpose of coming home? Do I just put him in pajamas? Here are some of my ideas.
