* Thursday afternoon, my friend Marcie and I went out to lunch for her birthday. Shannon and Steve had mentioned wanting to go to lunch, so we all ended up at the same restaurant. Funny coincidence, and we didn't even end up sitting together.

* Thursday night, my brother randomly showed up at my house. I asked what he was doing here, and he said that he and Steve were going to the Kings vs. Ducks game. Steve had totally forgotten, and was already in his pajamas. He got ready in a hurry and off they went.

* Friday afternoon, my parents came over so that my dad could work on the new cage he's making for my iguana.

* Friday night was Marcie's birthday party, so Steve asked my brother to go with him to the Sharks vs. Ducks game. I had a great time at the party, though everyone kept telling me how tiny my belly was. I ended up not getting home until 1am. I'm such a party animal :).

* On Saturday, Steve and I were out and about. We went to Sam's Club and spent $90 on diapers and wipes, yikes! After Sam's Club, we hit Lowe's and bought a new showerhead because ours cracked.

* We went to Babies R Us and ordered our nursery furniture! I thought it would be a good idea to order it early because I had heard that it would take 6-8 weeks, but the style that we ordered will be arriving in 7-14 days. Oops. We also wanted to order our glider and ottoman, but they were having problems with their system, so they're supposed to be calling us today and letting us know what's going on with it. We're getting a Dutailier, and I can't believe how ridiculously expensive it is!

* Sunday, we were up early for Steve's soccer game, which they lost. In the afternoon, my parents and Steve's mom came over to talk about contributing to the furniture fund. My mom didn't think we needed a dresser/changer and an armoire, but I made the argument that we have no storage in this house, so I needed furniture to store things in, like bath stuff. She accepted my argument, so each set of parents is going to pay for one of our dressers, score!

* Sunday night was Ducks vs. Predators. We were never in the lead the whole game, and we ended up going to overtime. We couldn't score in overtime, so we went to a shoot-out, which typically means certain death for us because we suck at them. But miracle of all miracles, we won!

* Steve called me today to ask me to go to the hockey store and get him a new goalie stick. I asked what was in it for me, and when he asked what I wanted, I told him that Owen needed some more clothes. I'm such a brat :).

Target usually has good prices on diapers and wipes. So does 1800diapers.com. I keep hearing how Costco and Sam's Club have such good deals on formula, diapers and wipes, but haven't been able to find the diapers & wipes that we use there.

I'll have to check out that website, thanks!

I wanted to ask you something. You have the same collection that we ordered. How did you decide on ordering both the armoire and dresser/changer? I mean, what kinds of things do you put in each, besides clothes? I noticed that Tyler's room has a big closet, just like Owen's.

We decided to get both b/c we had gotten so many clothes at the shower and wanted to maximize storage space. In the changing table/dresser we keep extra bags of diapers, wipes and an extra changing pad cover (in the little cupboard-type space), clothes (the leftmost 2 drawers-onesies in the top drawer and sleep clothes in the lower one), extra blankets (bottom drawer), diapers for immediate use (top right drawer), safety kit/grooming kit & receiving blankets (middle drawer on the right).

In the armoir, the big part we keep all feeding supplies on the bottom drawery (bottles, formula, extra parts for the breast pumps, etc) and bath stuff in the top portion (towels, washcloths, soap, shampoo, etc). Hats & shorts in the top drawer. Sleep & plays in the 2nd drawer down. Bibs & burp cloths in the 3rd drawer down. Booties, a few extra blankets, and outfits I didn't like in the 4th drawer. I designated the bottom drawer as the toy drawer.

We don't keep much in terms of clothes in the closet, maybe 20 separate items: overalls, a few sweaters, jackets, tshirts, etc. I also didn't put any 6+ month clothes in any of the furniture yet as we didn't/don't need it yet. Those sized clothes are boxed up and on a closet shelf. Hubby keeps his DVD collection in one side of the closet, and we have a bunch of other stuff taking up some of the rest of it (Peg Perego stroller I haven't been able to use yet, free stuff from the hospital, and just random shit that I didn't want out in the open, LOL). :D We also have the toy chest, which sits empty right now but serves as a table top next to the glider/ottoman with books and magazines and a lamp on it.

Cool, thanks! We can't use half of our huge closet either because we have stuff stored there, so this helps a lot! The only clothes I've purchased so far have been 6 months and up, and I didn't realize that the smaller stuff would be taking up tons of room. I can't believe these tiny things need so much stuff!

We actually hardly bought any clothes for him, we got 95% of them at the shower, at Christmas, or randomly from family/friends. I've bought a handful of sleep & plays b/c they're so simple and easy for me to get on/off compared to actual outfits (onesie or tshirt w/shorts or pants). We're not using a bunch of clothes that we received, just because we've stuck with the same 10-15 outfits until last week when he moved to the 3-6 and 6mos sizes and we're starting out with another set of clothes that we'll rotate.

I shouldn't be buying any clothes, but I keep finding cute stuff that I have to have! That's why Steve gave me an allowance :p.
