6 months!

Merry Christmas everyone! Owen is 6 months old today, wow!

At 6 months, Owen:

* Is still 100% bf
* Eats every 1 1/2 to 2 hours, and we can sometimes stretch it out to 3
* Eats oatmeal cereal for dinner
* Has tried squash, sweet potatoes, peas, green beans, and carrots
* Loves the sweet potatoes, is okay with the squash and carrots, but hates the peas and green beans
* Wakes up anywhere from 2-4 times a night, and can't fall back asleep unless I nurse him (must break him of this!)
* Rolls from belly to back like a pro, but always gets stuck on his shoulder trying to go from back to belly
* Still has only 2 teeth, but is constantly drooling and chomping on things
* Loves to babble and talk
* Says something that sounds like "am" or "ama" when he wants me, but I'm hesitant to call it his first word
* Can sit unsupported for up to 30 seconds at a time
* Enjoys going for walks in the Moby Wrap
* Loves to play with his feet
* Laughs like crazy when I put his feet up to his face
* Loves to scream and squeal
* Has started making clicking noises with his tongue
* Still prefers mommy over daddy (he's a mama's boy for sure)
* Has finally noticed the cats and likes to pet them (i.e. grab fistfuls of fur)
* Still fits into some 3-6 month clothes, and fits well in 6 month Carter's clothes
* Wears a size 3 diaper

I'm proud to say that I've accomplished my initial goal of breastfeeding for 6 months, woo hoo :D! I think I'll go for 9 next :).

You are seriously an amazing woman for breastfeeding that long...and that OFTEN! I don't have half the patience you have.

Aw, thanks! It's easier for me to whip out the boob than it is to prepare a bottle. We used to give him a bottle every night, but it was too much of a hassle for me, which I admit wasn't the best idea, because I can't be away from him for long as a result.

Owen is getting soo big! Are you planning to continue BFing? If so, how long?

This is Benjamin to a T! I am always nursing him to sleep. Its a hard habit to break. I dont want to deny him if he is hungry, you know?

can i ask when you started feeding solids? did he seem to pretty much drink the same amount of milk after he started solids?

Thanks! I planned to wait 6 months before introducing solids, but we started him at 4 1/2 months. It only replaced one feeding, and even then, I'm not sure it's even a whole feeding, because he could eat right before and right after. I don't think he realized he was getting food.
