Scott always figures it out exactly to 15%. Then we decide if they deserve more or not.

Our tax is 5.5% so, I usually triple the tax and round up, if they did a good job.

20% is easy to calculate and i believe in tipping well. so unless i'm not happy for some reason with the service, i go with 20.

I calculate 10% and then depending on the service, I'll either double that or just add a little more if service wasn't great.

I double the tax also. If I got extra-good service, I'll add another buck or two. Poor service, and I'll only leave a $1-2 tip at most. If it's really, really bad, no tip. And I'll leave a note for the server and/or manager. Only done that twice.

I usually calculate 20% and if service was excellent, I take off a dollar or so, or make it closer to 15%. I've always been pretty good at math, I know some people are not good at math and calculating 20% is even a chore for them. Doubling the tax would be a good idea here, tax is 8.225%, but wouldn't be a smart habit to get into, because in FL it's only 6%, and even in other areas of my state tax is less.
