Owen had his 2-month well-baby visit today! Here are his stats:

Weight - 12lb 14oz (up from 10lb 5oz)
Height - 23 1/2 inches (up from 22 inches)
Head circumference - 40cm (up from 38cm)

He's growing by leaps and bounds, yay! He got 3 shots today (one of the shots is a combo, so he only needed 3 instead of 4), and despite the fact that he screamed at first, it only lasted a minute or two, and then he was fine. What a champ! I'm happy to say that I made it through without crying, yay me! He fell asleep in the car on the way home, which was only about a 5 minute drive.

I asked the doctor about Owen's wandering eyes and he said that as long as the light shines on the same place in each eye, he's fine. It tends to happen after naps, so maybe he's just too sleepy still. Owen also has a mild umbilical hernia, so we'll be keeping an eye on that.

He is getting so big!!!

Glad he (and you) made it through ok! It's always traumatic when they have to get shots. Emma was always a trooper though. I was lucky that she never cried too much after shots.

Thanks! I was horrible with shots as a kid, so I hope that Owen is not like me.

Sounds like he's doing great! Growing real well too, whohoo! What's an umbilical hernia?

Thanks! An umbilical hernia is a weakness in the abdominal wall that allows tissue or intestines to poke through (under the skin, of course). It's pretty common in newborns and will usually heal on its own.

YEAH glad to hear he is doing ok! Hope the hernia heals on it's own!
