I'm thinking of having Owen's portraits done tomorrow after my appointment, but I don't know where the best place is to take him. Between Sears, JCPenny, and Kiddie Kandids, which do you all prefer? Who has the best prices, best props/backgrounds, best overall deal? Thanks!

ETA: Do all of these places offer proof sheets? I saw that Kiddie Kandids will give you a CD of all your shots, and I'd love that.

I think it really depends on the people at the places. We did pics at JCPenney and they were not all that great :( I thought Target was about the same as JCP. We also tried Picture People, which was okay, but DD had a melt down that day. I've heard really good things about Portrait Innovations, but there's not one around here.

It totally depends on the people that are taking the pics. I really like kiddie kandids, but they don't have many backgrounds in my opinion. That said, we had bad luck when we went last time. So we went to sears by our house and had the manager, and OMG the pics were awesome! I loved them! And I ended up with a lot of great photos. You can go on their website and print out coupons. I had a great coupon that was 10 sheets, two 10x13s, two portrait collages, and 10 enhancements for $129.00. The only draw back to Sears is that you have to wait about 2 weeks for the pics. But it is well worth the wait.:)

I also have done my portraits at JCPenney in the Santa Anita Mall in Arcadia. The Photographer was AMAZING! She got my kid to smile and laugh and got the best pictures. I would say JCPenney but like someone else said, it depends on who will be taking the photos. That makes a big difference.

Totally agree, depends on who is taking the pics. We've had the best luck at Portrait Innovations, but one particular store over another for whatever reason. Picture People is ok, but expensive, IMHO. Never tried Target, Penny's or Sears but know people who like Target.

Well, I won't be much help since I take all my own pictures! I think you could take your own too.... you could set Owen in his carseat with a cute blanket in it & set him by a window & capture some really cute ones using window light.... or you can put him in the shade outside on a cute blankie with trees behind him & take one there! You can do him laying down, in his carseat, etc.... You can also take some with your flash & take some neat ones...the lighting won't be the greatest but they will still be neat! Get closeups of his little feet, hands, face, etc.... then you could do a collage of different parts of his body!!!!
