Since I'm whining about my birthday, here's a little bit more to add to the fun. My birthday is on Tuesday, but it's not very practical to celebrate that day (especially because I'll be working a freaking 12 hour day!!!), so I was debating between celebrating it Monday or Friday. I figured Friday would be better, because then everyone has the weekend to do whatever they want. If I did it Monday, then everyone would have to get up for work the next day, blah blah blah. Obviously, the weekend wouldn't work because I have to work.
Being the nice person that I am, I asked to see what everyone else's schedules were, so that I could make a decision about which date was easiest. Either day seems to work for just about everyone, but when I called Steve's mom, she told me that his dad was off work on Friday, and wasn't sure about Monday. She called back later to tell me that he has to work on something at work, and if they don't get it done, then he'll end up working Monday. So I figured that was perfect, I could do my birthday on Friday, and wouldn't have to wait for Steve's dad to get off work and all that jazz.
Steve's mom called me again to remind me that when his dad doesn't have work, he likes to do stuff around the house. So now it's sounding like she thinks Monday would work out better. But he doesn't get home until like 6pm, so that would severely limit where I'd want to go to dinner to somewhere around where we live. That wouldn't be so bad, except I was thinking of going to this little Italian restaurant by my parents' house.
So now I'm annoyed. I wanted to be nice, and now I kinda feel like I'm being forced into a decision. Not like his dad would care if he was there or not, but still. Damn it! Do your around the house stuff some other time!
