Feb. 16th, 2005 09:59 amIt’s field trip day tonight, yay! We’re meeting up at the hospital at 6, taking a tour, and then some of the more senior students are going to be performing mock procedures in the real operating room. How exciting!
Steve and I have been having a really good week. Ever since Friday, we’ve gotten along really well, and have enjoyed being in each other’s company. I managed to get home at about 9:15 last night, and he was playing video games. He was getting really annoyed and pissed at the game, so I decided to stay away, because I didn’t want to ruin this nice thing we had going. I took a shower and went to bed, and he stayed up playing games until about 12:30. It would’ve been nice for us to have talked a little bit, especially since I had gotten home so early, but he was too engrossed in his games, and cranky, so we’ll have to save the chit-chat for another time.
We’ve been trying to plan a mini-getaway right now, so I was looking around at what’s available. We’ve gone to Big Bear, and we’ve been to San Diego as well, so I thought that maybe Palm Springs would be a good idea. I looked on Expedia’s website, and they have a pretty good deal going at the Wyndham Palm Springs Hotel. The hotel looked pretty nice, so I told Steve about it. Well, he just emailed me and told me that we can’t really afford a hotel like that right now. I figure that if we can’t afford a decent hotel, then we can’t afford the trip at all, so I told him we could just cancel our plans to go out of town. I’m really bummed about it, but I tried to play it off like it was no big deal. It’s just depressing to hear that we can’t afford it, and it wasn’t even that expensive.
