Steve and I went out today to create our registry at Babies R Us. Fun stuff! I feel like I scanned pretty much everything in sight. We also did a small one at Target. Here are some of the things we registered for.

Even though I already bought the Classic Pooh set, I couldn't resist this set! I'll probably put the Classic Pooh stuff on eBay:

This collection is soooooooo not me, but it was so cute!

Soooooo bright and obnoxious!

Space Saver high chair:

I'm looking to register for a breast pump, but I have no idea which one to get. Can anyone help?

I had way too much fun! But when I went back to look at it, it didn't seem that bad.

Fun stuff :)

It's hard to suggest a breast pump because I don't know how often you'd be using it. IIRC, you are going to be a SAHM, right? I have a Medela Pump in Style Advance (PISA) and I could definitely have not survived breastfeeding with out it (the letdown is worth the extra money, IMO) -- but I work full time and pump 3x a day 5 days a week. If someone else is going to pay for it - go for the best brands and get a Medela or an Ameda. If not, then you can get those cheaper other than at BRU or Target - or you can look into something a little more economical (even a manual pump). OR rent a hospital grade pump from your hospital until you figure out what you need! Hope this helps -- even just a little. There are a lot of options!

I probably wouldn't be using it that often, which is why I hesitate to register for one in the first place. I figure that at some point, Steve and I will leave the house without the baby, and he'd need some EBM while our parents are watching him, so that's pretty much the only time I'd need it.

Love the bedding set! Hhhmm, does that mean you might be interested in a white crib now?:)

With Wesley I only had a hand pump, hated it! With Savannah I bought the medela pump in style. Well worth the money! You might be able to find one used, you would just have to buy new hoses and horns/bottles etc. Again, I am going to be selling mine which wasn't used all that much. But either way, I recommend the electric ones over the hand ones!

Yay, I really like the bouncy and swing, I like all of what you got!

Thanks! You're really looking to chuck that crib huh lol? We registered for a natural wood color collection :). How often did you use yours?

I assume you are asking about the pump? I don't know how many times I have used it, but I didn't really use it on a regular basis. It was more like here or there. Since Savannah was in the hospital for 2weeks I had a pretty good supply of milk in the freezer already. Maybe I used it a couple of times a week?

Ok, I don't know if that answered your question.

Hey, did you try that heartbeat monitor yet? Does it work?

That's why I'm concerned about getting a pump in the first place; I really don't think I'll be using it that much, so I hesitate to put it on my registry.

I tried using it the day after I bought it, but there's a battery in there that I'm having a hard time getting out. It's a 9v battery, and you know how some battery compartments put a little ribbon in there that you place under the battery so that you can just lift the ribbon and it comes out? Well, the ribbon isn't underneath the battery, so I need to get a screwdriver or something to get it out.

If you are planning on having more then one child I would recommend getting one. I wish I would have bought the medela pis with Wesley. And I wish I would have pushed the bottle more with him cause it really did suck that he wouldn't take a bottle.

I am sure the screwdriver will help.

Cute stuff! As for breastpump, it depends how much you plan to use it. I used a friends' Medela PIS and it was great! In hindsight, I probably should have just rented one of the super-industrial ones from the hospital, as I ended up pumping exclusively towards the end and a hospital one would have been faster. Nonetheless I really liked the PIS and it was free.

I don't plan to use it that often, as I'll be a SAHM, but I figured it would be good to have one anyway.

I am not pg nor have I ever been. But I hear Medela breast pumps are the best. I have seen some for sale on our local Craigslist.org. Not sure how clean/safe that is, but if you run the appropriate cleaning solutions through it and use your own bottles, etc I would think it is ok.

I LOVE that carseat and stroller you posted. Too bad DH is having NONE of this baby thing right now, sigh! I also adore that cute high chair. Looks like it would be pretty easy to pack take places.

I've heard good things about the Medela PIS electric pump, and I will probably get that, despite the hit to the wallet. Hmm, I might be interested in your Classic Pooh bedding. Would you be able to post a picture?

Sure, let me find one! It's the collection that's available at Target, though it looks like they've since updated it. I also have the lamp, crib sheet, dust ruffle, wallpaper borders, wallpaper murals, mobile, and baskets.

Cool! We had the opposite experience registering though, we were so stressed out b/c even with lists of the necessities to register for, we were so clueless. After an hour of unsuccessful wandering around, hubby called my mom and begged her to come help us (luckily she lives 1/2 mile up the street and wasn't busy that night).

Oh, yes...breastpumps. I'm now in possession of 4. Krystle lent me her Medela PIS which I've been using for 2.5 mos now and I LOVE it! I also just recently got a PISA which is slightly different but seems to work pretty similarly. I have 2 Avent Isis manual pumps as backups. I love them all. I've heard nothing but good things about the Medela PIS & PISA, Avent Isis, and Ameda Purely Yours pumps from the gals on CC's Moms w/pumps thread:

I was trying to go by the list in the BRU book, but we ended up just going section by section and scanning what we thought we would need.

Wow, so I pretty much can't go wrong with the pumps!

CUTE! Love everything you picked out! Breastpump...
are you going to be pumping frequently like at work every day? If that is the case I would get a very good one like the Medula. They are expensive but work a lot better then the cheaper ones. The cheaper ones don't keep your supply up (at least that is what I found when I was pumping...)

Then you should be ok with just one of the cheaper brands. I really liked the one by Avent. I used that first then when I started pumping A LOT then I went to the professional type ones.... But the Avent worked great for just "once in a while" pumping or when baby slept waaaayyyyy tooo long & you just HAD to release some "pressure!"
