Here's where it gets interesting
May. 16th, 2006 05:27 pmOkay, so the Western Conference Finals start either on Friday or Sunday, depending on the outcome of tomorrow's game between Edmonton and San Jose. If Edmonton wins tonight, the series will start on Friday, and will go every other day, with no travel days. So that means, we'd have games on Friday and Sunday at home, then Tuesday and Thursday on the road, and if necessary, game 5 on Saturday, game 6 on Monday, and game 7 on Wednesday. If Edmonton loses tonight but wins game 7, we'd start at home on Sunday and Tuesday, then on the road Thursday and Saturday, then if necessary, game 5 on Monday, game 6 on Wednesday, and game 7 on Friday. If San Jose wins game 7, then we're on the road Sunday and Tuesday, home Thursday and Saturday, then if necessary, game 5 on Monday, game 6 on Wednesday, and game 7 on Friday.
Here's the problem. In the last round, I was able to work around my work schedule to go to these games, because they started at noon. Now the games are starting at 6pm. I know that the lady who works the weekends with me starts another job at 9pm, so asking her to stay would not only either cause her to leave early from the dealership or be late to her other job, but I would probably also be interfering with her sleep schedule. If we play San Jose, I'd have another week to figure this out, since we would start on the road against them, but I don't want to assume anything.
Do I fake sick to get out of it, or hope that she'll come through for me? I know it's a lot to ask of her, but I'm also working 13 hour shifts on Saturdays so that she can go back to school, so maybe she'd be willing to help me out a little. And at most, it would be two times that she'd have to do it. For this round anyway. If we made it to the finals, I don't know what I'd do. I'd probably have to quit lol! Then again, I can probably call the temp agency as well and tell them that I can't make it that night, and they can send someone in.
