Today is the day!

Dr. Phil's crew is going to be at my house in about 3 1/2 hours! Last night, Steve and I spent about 5-6 hours cleaning the house, and it's looking pretty damn good. I've also FINALLY managed to get my pictures up on the wall, even though some of them are ruined from one of the cats peeing on them :(. The bathroom still needs a good cleaning, but I had to wait until Steve wasn't around because he trashes it whenever he's in there, and I don't just mean the toilet. He leaves water all over the sink and doesn't flick the extra water from his hands when he's done washing, so the hand towel gets all soggy and nasty. Ew.

I'm going to open up a bunch of baby websites on here right now to get that out of the way, so that they can record me going on the internet. Kari, I'm totally putting your website up; maybe I can get you some free press! I also plan to open my Ladies in Waiting thread, the clucky community here on LJ, and probably the BRU website as well.

The assistant producer called us yesterday and asked if we had any friends with babies. I said no, since all of you lovely mommies out there have kids that are older than what they are looking for. But then I realized, duh!, my cousin Heather has a 5 month old baby girl, perfect! Basically, they want me to be holding the baby, and then pass her off to Steve, saying things like "isn't she cute?" and "doesn't it make you want one?", stuff like that. Steve is kind of freaking out about this part, since he really isn't comfortable around babies. I consider this a little bit of payback for my initial discomfort for going on the show. Only fair, yes?

I'll try to pop in here before they come over, but I still have to clean! I have mirrors, the bathroom, and I want to try to hose off the patio and porch, since there's so much dust from the equestrian center. Woo hoo!

Fun stuff!

It is now 6:25, and the crew is still at our house! They started my interview a little after 12, and it took about an hour and a half, and then they shot footage of me showing off my guest room, all the baby stuff I had bought, and major camera time for Kari's website! Here's hoping I sent some business your way Kari!

My cousin came over and brought her baby, and she was sooooooo good! She got fussy towards the end, but she was so freaking adorable. You ladies are going to love her!

They wanted to make it fun and upbeat, so I had to overact a little bit, and make my desire a little more than it really is. I'm sure I painted myself to be a total psycho. They directed every sequence, prompting me on how to act, what to say, etc. It's been really fun though.

After they do Steve's interview, we're going to do our plea to the camera, and then we're going to the mall to check out a baby store. Unfortunately, they couldn't get permission to go to BRU and TRU, but this little store will be good. They have a lot of baby furniture, including the set that I want.

This has been a lot of fun, but now I'm so tired! Now I have a tiny inkling of how actors feel on a daily basis, my God. And we still haven't even gotten to the talking with Dr. Phil part! Still no information on show date, but I'll keep you all informed!

Well if there was one good thing to come out of this

We headed over to the baby store in the mall at around 8, and got in a few minutes of me dragging Steve into the store, and looking at some baby booties. When we were leaving, the owner of the store came up to us and told us that when we decided to have kids, he would take care of us, and that we wouldn't pay the prices there that we saw in the store. Sweet, a discount! He wasn't working that day, but he had come in to make sure everything was going smoothly. What awesome customer service!

As much fun as we had today, I'm kinda glad it's all over. I'm so tired, and ready for bed! This week is so crazy for us! We had the Dr. Phil taping today, we're going to a Clippers game tomorrow, I'm going line dancing on Wednesday, we are taping the Dr. Phil show on Thursday, helping friends move on Saturday, and I'm going to San Diego on Sunday, while Steve goes to a hockey game. I don't think we've ever had such a busy week before!
