When I took my certification exam last week, Steve was going to surprise me by coordinating with my family to take me out to dinner. We ended up not going last week, but made plans to do it this week instead. My dad just called to find out what time we wanted to get together, and I ended up suggesting a different restaurant because we were going to go to Olive Garden, but we just went there on Friday to visit with Steve's aunt. Fine, no problem.
But of course, there is a problem. And his name is Steve. He doesn't want to go out to dinner until 7 or 7:30 because, oh my God, he just HAS to watch the stupid football games today. He knew about this last week, and it was his idea, and now he wants to make it convenient for him! That so pisses me off. My dad wasn't happy about that either; he said that we were celebrating an accomplishment for me, and that Steve didn't get to call the shots. I agree.
So now Steve is being all mopey, telling me that I've "won." We have a TiVo, record the damn game! Plus, the restaurant doesn't even open until 4:30, so he can watch most of the first half before we'd have to leave. Am I the one being selfish here, or is he?
