Just as I thought my workplace couldn’t get any more fucked up (pardon my language), it does. You may recall the story I told about the girl who was making comments about how my friend’s shirt (and the manager’s reaction to said shirt) was inappropriate. Well, she strikes again.

Since she has started working here, she has been bitching about having her own office. She says that it’s too loud up here, though she can be pretty damn loud herself, and it’s not like she’s ever actually here. She is in a cubicle in the front office, along with the rest of us girls, while all the managers have their own offices. She is a facilities analyst, which doesn’t say manager anywhere in the title, but I guess her position is considered management. The only thing she manages is to not ever show up for work. But I digress. They offered her an office upstairs, but she said it was too isolated, and that she didn’t want it. I would think an isolated office would be perfect for her, since she could disappear whenever she wanted, and no one would know. But apparently, she likes looking a gift horse in the mouth. This has pretty much been going on since she started working here in April of last year.

Fast forward to a recent conversation I was having with my co-worker. She told me that this bitch is going to be getting the office of one of the other managers here. I was furious. The manager that she’s pushing out has been here since before I was born, and he actually comes to work and does a good job. The same can’t be said for her. I’m just so pissed off that she gets what she wants, purely because of the fact that she has our boss in her back pocket. She doesn’t do a good job, she passes her work off on other people, and is extremely unprofessional when dealing with people on the phone (she raises her voice, hangs up on them, etc.). The squeaky wheel obviously gets the grease. I hate her. She asked the manager yesterday if he had volunteered his office, and he told her no. I hope that made her feel like crap. Bitch.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, I also learned that our assistant director has not passed his probationary period. I have no clue why, and I was totally floored when I heard this. The word is that our boss is trying to push him out. Total crap. This guy has been here and done a good job, and he’s well liked by everyone in the office. Now that he’s going to be leaving, that puts my friend’s job in jeopardy, because she’s his administrative assistant. They are looking to bring in a director, which is obviously a higher position. But you have to be an administrative assistant III, and my friend is only a II. She can have my job when I leave as far as I’m concerned, even though I’m lower than she is. I figure it’s better than no job, but she might not want to stay with this department, because it’s all going to hell in a handbasket.

Oops...

The girl that I hate was going to a meeting just now, and as she was leaving, she made a flippant comment about being 17 minutes late to the meeting. As she walked out the door, I said "And you deserve an office for that?". Of course, as I'm saying that, she walks back into the office. Oops. I don't think she heard me though, because she didn't say anything.
