Wut thuh phuk?!

* I recently joined 2 moms groups, and have been nervous about going since I'm so shy. I finally decided to do it today, and when I showed up, no one was there! Granted, I was about 15 minutes late, but I would have to think they still would've been there. It was about an hour roundtrip of driving. That sucked.

* I picked Steve up for lunch today on the way back from said failed meetup. When we came home, Steve's dad was in our house. He's working on building shelves in the garage, and had come in to use the bathroom, but it was a little freaky having someone in our house.

* Owen cut his finger today on our tape measure. We're in the market for a new couch, so we were measuring the room, and Owen grabbed onto the tape measure. He played with it for a minute, and when I took it away from him, I noticed his finger was bleeding. It didn't bother him any, so I just washed it and Steve put a giant bandaid on it.

* I put another bandaid on Owen's finger because he bled through the first one, and he almost swallowed it! We were at the furniture store, and Steve grabbed it just in time.

* We really want to get a sectional couch, but we don't really have the room because our living room isn't wide enough. We went to a furniture store and saw this:

Isn't that funky? It's totally weird, but we love it. We're currently trying to figure out if it will work in our house.

* That's totally weird about Heath Ledger. I wasn't particularly a fan or anything, but he's not one of the ones I'd peg to die young.

* Kellie Pickler was on Ellen today. They played a clip of her on "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" and good Lord, was she an idiot. I'm not trying to act like I'm a genius or anything, but it is generally known that Europe is a continent, not a country. Yikes.

We looked at a similar sofa once at Haverty's. The bottom wasn't leather, but it had similar lines. I really liked it :)

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm not real crazy about the leather, and I know that you can get it without the leather on it, but I don't know if there is a store around here that carries that model.

*love* that couch! it looks trendy, but very comfy. a match you don't often find!

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
It's very comfy, and there's an ottoman that goes with it! Every piece is apostrophe-shaped, so they all fit together no matter which way you arrange it.

[identity profile] philnikki.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 01:30 pm (UTC)(link)
LOVE the couch!! I think it looks awesome! Hope it works for you.

Sorry about Owen's boo boo. :(

And I know - it is weird about Heath Ledger! Didn't see that one coming. If it had been BS - I wouldn't have been the least bit surprised.

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! It was so strange that he didn't even notice that he cut himself, and I can't get a bandaid to stick to it for the life of me.

[identity profile] agreenbunny.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 01:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I am terrified of tape measures. I once cut myself so deeply I thought I would never stop bleeding.

I adore that couch.

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 05:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Those things are ridiculously sharp.

Thanks!

[identity profile] red-canuck.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
that couch looks like it would be so comfortable!! Awww, poor Owen boy, I hope his finger heals quickly.
How weird about the meetup being empty!

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a totally comfy couch, and it's so unique!

I was so pissed about the meeting being canceled. I finally got up the nerve, and no one showed!

[identity profile] pupsgirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 01:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Bummer about the moms group.

Just a little warming about Owen's cut finger...Eli sliced his finger back in December and it took forever to heal! He developed a staph infection from it! It was awful. Try to keep it as covered as possible at all times since he will otherwise have it in his mouth and be exposing the cut to germs. Our ped said to leave it uncovered at night after he was asleep so that it could get some air, but to put neosporin and a bandaid on it all day. I know it's a pain, but I would hate for Owen to go through what Eli went through!

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh, thanks for the heads up! I just tried putting another bandaid on it, but it slipped right off! I need to figure out a way to keep it on there, without putting it on so tight that it cuts off his circulation.

[identity profile] peacemommy.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I really like that couch. Different!

Poor Owen's finger. Thank God he didn't swallow the band aid!

That sucks about the mom's group after you finally got the nerve to go!

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! I'm so thankful that Steve caught Owen with the bandaid just in time, yikes!

[identity profile] madismom.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I love that set. It's just a big lol for me... there was a little tiff here at work over a similar set. A coworker really liked it and was going to buy it and she showed it to a few coworkers. Well, 2 of these coworkers bought the set for themselves and she was mad that they bought it because she didn't want to have the same set then (wanted to be different). Petty to me, imho.

This one maybe? or at least something similar:

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
That is too funny. It's not like they were all going over to each other's houses all the time.

[identity profile] dukes-flygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 03:21 pm (UTC)(link)
That is a really unique sofa! ANd it looks comfy too!

Sorry about the mom's group no-show!

Poor Owen! I'm sure it will heal quickly!

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! The sofa is really comfy. I'm not a fan of loose-back pillows, but I was willing to make an exception for this ;).

[identity profile] jrr91501.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 03:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Thats odd about the mom's group! Maybe they decided to go somewhere else once everyone got there? I'd contact them and find out.

Sorry about Owens finger :-(

Nice couch! A little funky for my taste (I'm more traditional as opposed to modern) but I think it looks really comfy and it will def give your family room a little edge :-)

I am a HUGE HL fan and I was very sad when I heard the news. It popped up on E! News and for a second I either thought it was a joke or I read it wrong. So sad.

Oh and yes, KP is an idiot although I LOVE her song Carolina or whatever and loved her performance of it at the CMA. Made me tear up.

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
They just plain canceled the meeting! I talked to [livejournal.com profile] rancid13 last night, and she told me the meeting was canceled. Boo.

I'm definitely more of a traditional couch girl too, but the traditional sectionals we were looking at were all too big for our living room, so we had to get creative.

[identity profile] sage-77.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a bummer about the mom's group! I would be annoyed and disappointed.

I like that couch! Oh, and Kellie Pickler is a total idiot. Sometimes I think she must be faking it, because no one could really be that dumb.

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-24 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I was annoyed, but I guess that's what I get for not checking again as I walked out the door.

I would hope that no one was that dumb, but it looks to be the real deal, yikes.

[identity profile] jenjunum.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't really like the couch. If you like that's great though. It does look comfy though. It's definitely unique too, that's always a good thing. Better luck next time for the mom's group. The Heath Ledger thing is really strange. Although now I really want to see Broke Back Mountain again because they keep showing clips of it. It's really sad with the little baby and all. He seemed like such a regular guy. I guess anyone who associates with Lindsay even for a minute probably has some kind of problem and drugs shouldn't be that surprising.

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-24 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
It's definitely not a traditional couch like we wanted to get, but it's fun and it's really comfortable, so we'll see what happens.

[identity profile] berniesmommy.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
The saddest thing about Kellie Pickler is that some of us thought it was an act, and no, ti wasn't, she IS that stupid. And, ok, another sad thing, there are many like her!

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-24 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I weep for the future.

[identity profile] megc1.livejournal.com 2008-01-23 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
That couch is making me want to take a nap on it! Too bad about the mom's group. Is the other one any closer of a drive?

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-24 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Both of the moms groups I'm in are in the same general area, unfortunately.

[identity profile] luvnu43.livejournal.com 2008-01-24 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, love the sofa!

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-24 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, love the icon :D! Congrats again!

[identity profile] sagette.livejournal.com 2008-01-24 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
I love are you smarter than a fifth grader :) I can't imagine having to sit through Kellie Pickler play though!

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-24 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Ick, she was awful. And I only saw the one question.

[identity profile] jeneca128.livejournal.com 2008-01-24 09:41 am (UTC)(link)
Looooove the sofa! I wish I had seen one like that. I bought one that looks very similar material wise. (chocolate micro fiber on top and leather on the bottom), but it's a fairly traditional sofa and loveseat combo.

You know if you're looking for a sectional that will fit in any space...I was really in love with the Love Sac "Sactional" You can use as many or as few pieces as you want to create a custom size.

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2008-01-24 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooh, I'm going to have to look that up.
