Pictures from last night

Alright, I took over 100 pictures last night, but a lot of them were of faceoffs, so I won't bother with many of those here. Enjoy!

We're here!

This was just wrong. This guy had his kid standing on an electrical box with a sign saying how much he wanted tickets:

Warm up time:

Tee hee:

It's game time!

The section of Ottawa fans who were no doubt disappointed in the outcome:

Final score!

The handshakes:

Scott Niedermayer with the Conn Smythe Trophy for MVP:

The holy grail of sport:

Here we are with our seatmates, who have saved us hundreds of dollars by letting us park for free in the county lot:

Me and Steve. Yes, he's been crying:

I also have a ton of pictures from the aftermath, where everyone is just hanging out on the ice, posing with the Stanley Cup. I have a doctor's appointment in a little bit, so I'll post those when I get back!

I totally thought of you guys when they won last night. I'm not a big hockey fan but I think that Teamu is hot and I know he's been with the ducks since forever so I was happy they won.

LOL on Steve crying. That's a true fan right there. :)

Steve is a hardcore fan, has been since the beginning. I was really happy for him to be able to see it.

So cool!!!!

Hey, I cried too! I love when teams when a major game at home, ahhhhh.....

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
I almost cried, but only because it makes me cry when Steve cries :).

That's awesome. I'm so glad you were able to go. That's so cool. Maybe LA will embrace Anaheim now that they have a winning team? Even though they're trying to push the Angels away. Your husband is nuts. ;)

I'm not putting that much faith in the LA sports fans. My brother is a huge Kings fan, and just refused to cheer for the Ducks.

That is so awesome. And I did laugh at the Kings joke...however sad. HAHA

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
Tee hee. There were a few signs out and about that poked fun at the Kings. I think I have a picture of another one somewhere.

I was thinking about you while they played!!

Thanks :D!

i was wondering if you guys were there...that is awesome!!!! i'm so glad you and steve were able to experience that. it was amazing. we watched it from my neighbors house....we could hear other neighbors screaming when it was over. yay!

you look cute!!!!

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
Aw, thanks! It really was a surreal experience. We TiVo'd the game and watched it tonight, and we were amazed to see how much of it we just didn't see or remember.

Too much orange for my eyes. ;) My crazy mom friggin made a scarf with the rally towels she's collected. Added ribbon edging and fringe, for chrissakes!! I'm not looking forward to seeing her tomorrow. My BFF got quacked at many times at work today and there's threat of an orange-colored cake being presented to her tomorrow, which if it happens, she's stated that the cake is going onto the ground.

I'm very happy for you guys and am glad you and Steve got to experience that.

I'm *not* happy that the Ducks won and I'm not happy for *them* in the slightest. I cried too, but not on their behalf. B/c of memories from 8 years ago.

My dad was being a 'nice guy' and gave his ticket that night to my SIL so she could go (and she's not even a hockey fan!!). My parents had 2 sets of tickets, and posted the sect 439 ones on the Ducks ticket exchange and got well over $1000 for them (paid $100 each initially).

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 05:10 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, there's a lot of orange there lol. That's why I was less than thrilled when they changed their colors, but I like it now. Too funny about your mom's towels. I just hung all of mine from my pockets.

OMG, WHY would your dad give up his ticket to someone who isn't even a fan?! That just blows my mind. I couldn't believe how much tickets in the nosebleeds were going for; we could've made some serious bank!

I will try to be nice since you are a fan, but I gotta be honest that I'm absolutely SICK that a fake, franchise Disney team won something as IMPORTANT as the Stanley Cup. It's like a nightmare. I think I need to go cry again...

Congrats to you guys though. I'm not going to be a spoil sport (well, not much of one anyway!) ;)

[identity profile] rancid13.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
LOLOLOL!! ITA!! Although they've split from Disney, to me they will always be the Mighty Ducks named after the Disney movie.

[identity profile] sweetjezebel.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly!!! I've been in 3 fights at hockey games and 2 of them were with Ducks fans. One dude kept swinging his stupid white towel (btw, I always thought that was a sign of SURRENDER?) ;) around near my face & I after telling him to knock it off a few times I took his towel and tore it! Then I jumped him from behind! He was a big dude too! We fell forward 2 rows :) He got me pretty good but I was proud of him for not backing down "cuz' I was a girl" ;)

[identity profile] rancid13.livejournal.com 2007-06-09 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
That's awesome! You're so bad-ass!! I've never got in any fisticuffs with fans, but I have had beer, peanuts, programs and other random trash thrown at me for not cheering for the 'correct' team, LOL. It's happened (as far as NHL teams go) in Anaheim, LA, Phoenix and San Jose. Vancouver fans were nice enough not to throw things at me and since I was cheering for the home team in Dallas (go Stars!!) of course I was with the majority there. My BFF has gotten into lots of verbal sparring with people at games though, she's a lot louder and bigger than me (5'11" and built very solidly).

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 09:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw, hey now! Those are real hockey players, so how can you call it a fake team?

[identity profile] sweetjezebel.livejournal.com 2007-06-08 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
See now... even THAT is debatable ;) Sorry, hardcore Red Wings fan for so long so I've come to learn what red hockey players look like ;)
