Appointment details and other happenings

I had my 31 week appointment, and all looks well! I gained another 4 pounds, so I'm up about 22 pounds overall right now. My blood pressure was 120/72, which is a little high for me (I'm usually 110/70), but I'm not going to stress about it. Owen's heartbeat was found right away, right under my belly button (I hope that means he's head down!), beating very strongly. I go back in another two weeks, and then again two weeks after that. When I hit 36 weeks, I'll be having doctor's appointments every week!

After my appointment, I headed over to the mall to do some shopping for me. I actually ended up finding this cute kimono top at JCPenney, and a brown cami to go underneath it. Unfortunately, they don't have a picture on the website of the one that I bought. I plan on wearing it tomorrow night at Casino Night, and then I'll probably wear it again at Steve's work shower. I also popped into Motherhood and bought some nursing essentials. I got a pair of nursing pajamas, a nursing tank, and a nursing sleep bra. I've heard really good things about the Bravada nursing bra, and I think the nearest retailer to me is at the hospital, so I'm going to have to head over there and get a couple.

It looks cuter in person:

Mine has shorts, not pants:

Tonight is game 5 of the series between the Ducks and the Minnesota Wild. I was hoping we'd sweep them in 4, but it's nice for them to come home and win. They'd just better win tonight.

Tomorrow night is Casino Night, yay! It's the annual fundraiser at Steve's work for book grants. We go every year and have a blast! They give away raffle prizes at the end of the night, and we always end up with at least one basket of stuff. One year, we won 5 times! Steve is the resident poker dealer (of course), even though they bring in a company to deal all the other table games, so he's in the living room right now, sorting all of his chips.

Did you try the sleep bra on? How did you like it? I never had one with Zach, but am seriously considering it this time!

Oh - and glad your appointment went well!! =)

Thanks!

I tried the sleep bra on, and it was pretty comfy. I just hope I don't get too big when my milk comes in, though it does seem to have a decent amount of stretch to it.

Even if you do get huge, your body regulates fairly quickly. So if it's too small in the beginning, give it 6-8 weeks and they should go down. =)

Sweet :).

I had that same sleep bra, and it was way too small, once my milk came in. The straps would cut into my shoulders, and it hurt so badly! Oh, and stupidly, I washed and dried it, and it shrunk - a lot!!! As in, Claire could probably wear it now ;)

Cute shirt!!

I'm afraid that may happen to me too. Unfortunately, bra sales are final, poo. But the sizes were based on the band size, not cup size, so I'm assuming I didn't jump up to a 36.

Thanks!

happy 31 weeks!

Nice shopping! Fun times :D yes, I LOVE my bravado nursing bras. I don't wear anything else anymore.

You might end up finding that you won't want to sleep in a bra at night. I did for the first bit to stop the leakage, but then I just slept on a towel :p What can I say, I hate wearing any form of clothes to bed! hehe

Thanks! You're too funny; I don't like the feeling of not wearing clothes to bed. You are braver than I am!

Yay for a good appt! Great buys! I have that sleep bra in black, but my boobs don't like quite as perky in it :) But they do in my Bravado bras - I love those things.

Thanks! I've heard really good things about the Bravado, so one of these days, I'll have to go out and get some.

1) I had a sleep bra, LOVED IT! It was awesome! In fact, I think that's the same one I had/have! Here's a trick my Mom taught me: when you're BF'ing, you're supposed to switch sides and start each session on the opposite side. To remember which side you're on, use a saftey pin and just pin it to your bra on the correct side. Total lifesaver for middle of the night feedings, and this way, one boob won't get more engorged than the other!
2) I lived in nursing pj's for about the first 4 weeks of Kassidy's life, unless I went outside for a walk or to run errands. LOVE PJ's!
3) I was thinking about you and Steve while Josh watched the end of the Duck game! Woo Hoo!!
4) That model who's wearing the sleeping bra bought and paid for her boobies! ;)

That's a cute trick, thanks for that! And thanks for thinking of us; I have a whole post in my head about that game, just waiting to come out, and it doesn't even really have to do with the game. Fun times!

Hahaha, you're so funny!

The bravado bras are great. I pretty much only used it to sleep in though. I like the medela brand ones too.

Glad to hear such good reviews from everyone :)!

Cute outfits!! Love the colors of the kimono top! Those are the same colors of my bebe au lait nursing cover, the pattern of which is eerily called 'kimono'. :) I can't believe you're 31 weeks already, how time flies!! June will be here before you know it!

Thanks! I can't believe I'm 31 weeks too; it seems to have gone by so fast, but also feels like it's taking forever, all at the same time!
