Congestion

Owen has a little congestion right now. He doesn't have a runny nose or fever, and isn't coughing or sneezing or anything like that. Should I do anything about it? It doesn't interfere with his eating or sleeping either.

Here's a video I took of it so you can hear it:

there's nothing you can do for it at this point

Watch for him to actually start wheezing or be short of breath or his chest to sink when when taking breaths...that would be more of an asthma reaction with which I'm familiar. As far as colds go, as solongtogo said, there's not much you do about congestion. But as I always say, call your ped to reassure you what to do and look for...they're paid to answer all your questions...better safe than sorry is the way I look at it.

If his nose ends up getting congested, use some saline spray to break up the mucous and suck it out with an aspirator. And put a humidifier in his room to keep the air moist. Otherwise, just keep on doing what you're doing as normal till it clears up.

Unless he has a fever or is acting sick I wouldn't worry about it.
