41 weeks!

Yesterday, Steve and I did some walking. We walked around the mall in the afternoon after a yummy burger at Fuddruckers, and then we took a walk through the neighborhood at about 8pm. I barely made it home in time to use the bathroom, which I was hoping would be a positive sign of something, but nothing! When we got home from our mall walk, I went online and saw that another June mommy had her baby about a week ago. At that point, I pretty much lost it. I was walking into the kitchen and I dropped my plastic cup, so I threw it away, and then went to lie down, where I started bawling. I can't even describe how awful I felt.

Following "doctor's orders" and the recommendations from some of the lovely ladies here, Steve and I also decided to DTD last night. I thought it was going to be a logistical and physical nightmare, but it actually ended up being quite good, for those who care ;). Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have worked, as I'm still sitting here pregnant!

I'm still really on the fence about canceling and/or rescheduling my induction. On the one hand, I'd like to see if my body will do what it's supposed to do. I'm dilating and effacing, I'm just not contracting. On the other hand, we do have some time constraints squeezing down on us, and I'm just tired of waiting. I want to see how today goes, but I don't know that it's going to help at all.

This is the part of the pregnancy that no amount of reading can really prepare you for. The whole line in the sand of the EDD. Even though, in reality, most first time moms go late. It's still pressure- you're beyond the date. Your breakdown last night is totally normal and, I may add, reasonable. You've been told since minute one you'd have your boy at or around 6/17. It's now the 24th and still no go.Hang in there. One way or another you're almost done. You've done so well with this pregnancy, Heather. You're almost there!

Thanks :)! It just sucks to hear a doctor say that he'll be 2-3 days late, and then at the next appointment, the doctor says that there's a 2/3 chance that I'll go into labor on my own after having my membranes swept. It's like, what does it take?!
