Bang bang!

It's construction day :D! In Owen's room, there is this extra door that is used as a shortcut to go from his room into the laundry room. Considering this house is only 1048 square feet, we don't really need any shortcuts around here, so we're having it walled off. Plus, we need the wall space for the furniture. The contractor came this morning to frame the doorway, and the drywall guys just got here to hang the drywall. One of the guys is outside smoking, which I'm slightly annoyed about, because I don't want him coming in here, smelling like smoke and stinking up the room (no offense to my smoking friends!).

Because the wall in the laundry room (the other side of the wall from Owen's room), had wainscoting and wallpaper, it all had to be taken down, so now I have this big ugly wall, and I'm not sure what to do with it. The other walls in the laundry room all have the same look, so it looks like we'll need to redo the entire laundry room. Hopefully that's not too large an undertaking, and considering that it's a small room, it's probably pretty easy. I just don't know what I want to do.

In other news, I got to deal with my lovely, useless doctor's office again. I called on Friday to get the results of my lab work and my glucose test, and they said they'd call me back within 10 minutes. It was nearing closing time, and they never called me back. Nice. So I called again today, and they ended up calling me back within about 5 minutes. I passed my glucose tests and my labs looked good, yay :D!

How exciting Heather! Ugh, I think that is really rude that they smoke on the job. I can't stand that. When we had our new windows installed one of the guys was outside hanging the window and he was actually smoking, so yes smoke was getting into our house. We told him to put it out. But seriously, do they not think? I hope you are taking pics!

Oh come on now, you must know me better than that. Of course I'm taking pictures :D!

The kid was smoking outside by the front of the house, but I just didn't want the stank from his clothes to get in here. So far so good though, I can't smell anything.

I would be the same way, people are so stinky after they smoke.

That is great news about your test!

How long is the construction estimated to take? I hope it doesn't disrupt you guys too much.

Thanks! They were here for about 2 hours today, and then will be coming back tomorrow to texture the walls, so it's not taking much time at all.

That is not bad at all. :-)

I just have to get up "early" for them, i.e. 8:45 am :p.

Doesn't is suck that work always begets work! But I know you will be so happy when the nursery is done, and the laundry room shouldn't be difficult.

I know it! We were out looking to find the paint to match the wall, and I didn't think to get paint for the laundry room! Oops.

Yay on passing your glucose tests and I'm glad you're not anemic or anything.

Thanks! It must be all those chicken and steak tacos I eat that are preventing the anemia ;).
