We decided to get both b/c we had gotten so many clothes at the shower and wanted to maximize storage space. In the changing table/dresser we keep extra bags of diapers, wipes and an extra changing pad cover (in the little cupboard-type space), clothes (the leftmost 2 drawers-onesies in the top drawer and sleep clothes in the lower one), extra blankets (bottom drawer), diapers for immediate use (top right drawer), safety kit/grooming kit & receiving blankets (middle drawer on the right).

In the armoir, the big part we keep all feeding supplies on the bottom drawery (bottles, formula, extra parts for the breast pumps, etc) and bath stuff in the top portion (towels, washcloths, soap, shampoo, etc). Hats & shorts in the top drawer. Sleep & plays in the 2nd drawer down. Bibs & burp cloths in the 3rd drawer down. Booties, a few extra blankets, and outfits I didn't like in the 4th drawer. I designated the bottom drawer as the toy drawer.

We don't keep much in terms of clothes in the closet, maybe 20 separate items: overalls, a few sweaters, jackets, tshirts, etc. I also didn't put any 6+ month clothes in any of the furniture yet as we didn't/don't need it yet. Those sized clothes are boxed up and on a closet shelf. Hubby keeps his DVD collection in one side of the closet, and we have a bunch of other stuff taking up some of the rest of it (Peg Perego stroller I haven't been able to use yet, free stuff from the hospital, and just random shit that I didn't want out in the open, LOL). :D We also have the toy chest, which sits empty right now but serves as a table top next to the glider/ottoman with books and magazines and a lamp on it.
