eBay question

I'm selling my not so great Coldplay seats on eBay, and so far, I've had no bids. I did start the bidding high, as I would've liked to have made some money on the tickets. I paid a total of $141, and starting the bidding at $155. My auction closes in 3 hours, and I just got a question from a potential buyer, offering to buy my tickets for $140 right now. Is this legal? I know that it says it's illegal to contact someone outside of eBay and offer to buy whatever it is, and have the seller end the auction early. But is it also illegal if for the buyer to contact through eBay and ask to end the auction?

I wouldn't do it. I just relist it (at the same price) and keep trying. More than likely, you were contacted by a ticket broker or someone looking to resell them. When is the show?

I didn't respond. The show is not until February 6th, so I still have a little time.

I am not sure of that one. But I would be aware, as katysbrat said it could be a ticket broker.

I may be a little late on this, but it's not illegal for a buyer to ask a seller to end an auction early and offer to buy the item for a set price. It's completely up to the seller what they want to do though. You still have a month until the show, I'd just wait another week then relist them.

FWIW, when I listed my Bon Jovi tickets for the second time (no bids on the first), I listed the $120 tickets at $49.99 and the $200 tickets at $59.99. Final bids on the both of them were around $199 and $201, so I was happy.

I'm just so afraid to list them for that low because I don't want to end up losing money on the tickets. I didn't set a reserve on the first round, so they wouldn't let me set one this time.
