Recommendations please!

I need three recommendations, and I'm hoping you could all help me out.

1. Mesh feeder - I bought a pair of these for Owen, and was wondering what kinds of foods you put in there for your kids? So far, I've put bananas and avocado in there, and he loves it, but I'm looking for other things too. Thanks!

2. Books - Since so many of you are such voracious readers, I thought I could use a little help. I know that a lot of you are planning to read 50 books this year, which is awesome. I'd be lucky to get in 12, but I'd like to try. I don't want to get into any hardcore reading, but something fun and relatively light might be nice once in a while. Any fabulous book recommendations?

3. I have $120 in cash right now that I can spend on whatever I want. I was thinking of either buying some new clothes at Old Navy, or buying the least expensive Disneyland annual pass. I'm not a massage/mani/pedi/facial kind of girl, so I wouldn't use it towards that, but if you had $120 burning a hole in your pocket, what would you do with it?

I put all kinds of things in Mia's feeder-- apples, oranges, grapes, ice, etc.

Books-- I'm reading about 3 different ones right now (one for leisure, one for work and one for semi-both).

As for the money, I'd probably put it in the bank and save it, myself. I'd also throw it towards my student loan but that's just me! I'm a massage kind of girl-- no help.

We had more success with frozen fruits in the mesh feeder, like peaches, cherries, grapes, plum, etc. Ice was also good for teething. I had read somewhere that it's good for meat like ground beef or chicken, but M never liked that in the mesh feeder.

if i had $120 extra dollars, i'd probably go clothes shopping, or get my hair done (cut/colored). or buy a semi-fancy purse.

1. Frozen fruits, like lamki said. We get a big bag from Sam's. M also liked steamed apples in his.

2. Have you read anything by Sophie Kinsella? I'm always entertained by her books.

3. I would buy clothes. But I only have two pairs of jeans and four shirts that fit. I spend every spare dime I have on clothes.

What kind of stuff do you like to read? Fiction? Non-fiction? I agree with Karlatta, any of Sophie Kinsella's books are good and light. I also like Marian Keyes. I'm reading a book by her right now, and it's pretty good.

The Choice by Nicholas Sparks is really good. Same guy who wrote The Notebook.

For light reading I suggest Mary Kay Andrews. I read Itty Bitty Lies last summer and it was great. Also, Hissy Fit is pretty funny, too. I also liked A Little Help from Above (can't remember who wrote that.)

1. Ice, frozen and thawed grapes, cantelope, watermelon...you can put anything in there

1-I put grapes, watermelon, icecubes (for teething!), and steamed carrots in the mesh feeder.

1. In addition to bananas & avocado, I have also put pickles (Eli LOVED it!), grapes (cut in half so he can taste the juice), ice and peeled peaches.

2. I LOVED "Water for Elephants" A wonderful read and pretty easy too.

3. I would spend it on a "staple" item, like a new handbag, watch, some great new shoes. Stay away from trendy pieces...just a waste of $$ in my opinion.

I'm not much help with 1 & 2 and might steal some of the suggestions you've gotten about the books!

As far as 3, I would probably to do what you said in your OP and spend some money at Old Navy. Mainly there because you could get quite a bit for $120!

1- We never did use a mesh feeder so no rec's for that one.

2- I probably read a book every 4-6 weeks. I agree that Sophie Kinsella has some great books. Also really enjoy Jennifer Weiner books (yeah I LOL at the name too). Her book "In Her Shoes" was recently made into a movie with Cameron Diaz and Toni Collette. Very cute and light stuff. I recently enjoyed a book called "Milk Memos" about breastpumping at work. Also any funny parenting books such as "I was a really good mom before I had kids" and "Sippy cups are not for chardonnay". Find a book or 2 you like, then do a search on Amazon.com and it will list other books similar that you might enjoy. That's how I usually build up my wish list there. :)

3- I would totally do the D-land pass over clothes any day!!!

I'm no help with the mesh feeder, we never used one.

Books. I love Jennifer Weiner, Sophie Kinsella, I am just starting one by Emily Giffin so far so good. I have also heard really good things about Jodi Picoult, but I haven't read any yet, but have one in my pile to read and Debbie Macomber(my smut guilty read). I also like Carl Hiassen, he is VERY weird, but it is a great read, and quick too.
An extra $120 right now would go towards finishing the playroom for the kids! But I also might use it to buy myself some clothes!
