Owen pictures!

I'm thinking of using this picture on my birth announcements:

Finally trying out the Moby, I love this thing!

He is just so cute!

I didn't know you had a moby. I have seen people wearing them and I don't think I would be able to figure it out. Is it hard?

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-07-18 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! I bought the Moby from this tiny little shop in Fullerton. I had originally gone to get a Hotsling, but I didn't like any of the fabric choices, so I went with the Moby instead. It does take a little effort to get it all together, but I managed to get it on the first try. I've done the cradle hold (that last picture), but then Owen woke up and got fussy, so now I'm using the hug hold, which is like the carry position in a Baby Bjorn.

Cute!! I like the potential announcement photo.

I'm glad you love the Moby :) I loved mine and even though I get some pretty weird looks (as in "thanks for the big piece of stretchy fabric crazy lady"), I like to give them as shower gifts now.

What a little cutie! I'm starting to be able to see bits of both of you in his facial features.

Is that a wee-wee pad on his changing table?? Target has some cute (& cheap) Munchkin brand disposable/reusable changing pad covers. We have those and some smaller ones to keep in the diaper bag.

I've been too intimidated to use a Moby or any of the wraps. I had a sling for the first couple months, but now we use a Beco (got it at Xpecting over in CM).I think Sonny loves it even more than I do!

What a doll!!

[identity profile] granada.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
CUTE!!! Have you been cutting his nails? (Random question, but a concern of mine. :)

[identity profile] bwiched.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
omg...so darn cute! love the birth announcement photo, too.

you look great!

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! I think Owen is still unsure of the Moby; it seems like he doesn't like being confined. I hope it's just an adjustment for him.

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! We put a chux pad down on the changing table cover so that we don't ruin it. I bought a package of them at the store, thinking that I would need them for me when we came home from the hospital, but since I didn't need them, we found another good use :). The Moby does look pretty intimidating, but there are instructions and different holds that you can use, so it's pretty cool. I was able to get it on the first try, though I did feel like it was twisted.

Thanks!

Thank you!

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! I actually haven't been cutting his nails; if I see a piece hanging off, I just pull it. I'm too afraid of the clippers right now :).

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

[identity profile] bgum78.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
Awwwww....I love that one of you with him on your chest. He looks so much like his mommy! Glad to hear you like the Moby wrap. I'm trying to decide between that and the Peanut Shell. I want to register for both but DH is being stubborn and just wants me to pick one. Grrrrrr....

[identity profile] ithadtobeme.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Ahhhhhhh....melt! He is soooo cute!

[identity profile] mrs-natalie.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
OMG!!!! He is so cute!!

I have a wrap very very similar to the Moby and loved it. I wish I had used it more but with the Canadian winters it wasn't too practical for walks. If I ever have a spring baby I doubt I would use much else for the first few months.

[identity profile] philnikki.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 01:47 pm (UTC)(link)
LOVE the pic you chose for the announcements!

And that one of him sleeping on you is SO sweet. Gah! my uterus is aching!!! :)

[identity profile] vwinkel.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 01:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know how in the world you figured out that moby thing, but it looks awesome.

He is adorable and I like that sweet picture for the birth announcement.

[identity profile] cat-loverpq.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
The pic for the announcements is so sweet! I also really like the one right above the one of you holding him. It looks like he's in deep thought. :)

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! I really wanted a Hotsling in addition to the Moby, but they didn't have any patterns that I liked at the store I went to. If I had to choose, I'd go with the Moby, because you can do a bunch of different carries in it, and I think you can wear it longer.

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks!

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! The first day in the Moby didn't go too badly, thank God! I put him in it for Steve's hockey game last night, and he slept through the entire thing, nice!

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
It does look pretty daunting, but it comes with instructions. It's actually pretty easy, just cumbersome because there is so much fabric.

Thanks!

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks! I love his thinking look, it's so cute!

[identity profile] unfshine.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
If you don't mind, how much did you pay for your Beco? Did they have different patterns? I've been looking at them, but I can't decided between the Metro Black, Sky Temple, and Fushia Spider (if I am feeling really wild).

[identity profile] unfshine.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I love the potential announcment picture! Owen is getting huge - At first glance, I see Steve, but then when I looked at the rest of the pictures I see a great mix of the both of you.

[identity profile] rancid13.livejournal.com 2007-07-19 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it was about $115 or thereabouts. They only had a black & a mocha one left when I got mine. I had actually ordered one from the econabies website, but my confirmation email said it would take 4-6 weeks to arrive. The lady at Xpecting said that the Becos sell out pretty quick, but you can always call to see what they have in stock.
