Do I have reason to worry?

This afternoon, Steve, Steve's dad, and I were on our way to BRU to pick up our furniture. The turn lane into the shopping center has an unprotected left turn. We were at the red light, and when it turned green, Steve's dad started to go, but when he realized that he didn't have a green arrow, he stopped really abruptly. He couldn't have been going faster than about 5-10mph. The seatbelt was a little bit loose (we were riding in a 70's van, and it only had lap belts), but I did hit it a little bit when he slammed on the brakes. I feel fine, though I think I may be a tiny bit sore from where I hit the belt, and I've felt the baby moving around since it happened, but Steve is worried. Should I get it checked out, or am I fine?

I think you will be fine, your baby is pretty well cushioned in there. When I was pg with Savannah, Wesley hit/push my belly a few times.;)

That's what I thought too, but Steve is a little more paranoid than I am.

Well, it wouldn't hurt to call your dr for his peace of mind. lol!

I've never been pg, but this is exactly what I was coming in to say. Heck, one of my friends did a belly flop onto the floor at 7 months pg before and she was fine! Don't worry, I'm sure you are just fine also! :)

Yikes! Yeah, he's been really active this morning, and I haven't had any bleeding or cramping or anything.

Your icon looks yummy!

Wow, another Savannah! Sorry to butt in, but you're the only other person I've seen with a Savannah. Mine's 16 months. Beautiful name.;-)

Aw, thank you! I of course love the name!

Cute doggies!

I'm sure you are fine, unless you start having a lot of cramping or bleeding.

That's what I thought too, and I haven't had any cramping or bleeding.

i am sure your fine, specially since you've felt the baby, but call the dr and see what they say to do.

Is it weird that I'm afraid to? The lady I talk to whenever I call the office is such a bitch, I hate calling.

[identity profile] kmfroggi.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
i hate some dr's office staff! i work in a Dr's office and i never treat anyone like some offices do!

its not weird. i felt weird when calling the dr's too, but thats what their there for.

Luckily, I spoke to someone else who was super nice.

[identity profile] lamki.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 11:51 am (UTC)(link)
I bet the baby is fine. I would call the doctor just for peace of mind, and for nothing else, just so they know just in case.

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks!

[identity profile] pupsgirl.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 12:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't worry sweetie! Baby is well insulated in there. Heck, I fell on my tummy going up the subway stairs and everything was A-OK. If you can feel the baby moving then I'm positive everything is okay.

Still though, for peace of mind you can always call your doc and see what he/she says.

I was thinking about your fall too, and figured that if your little guy was fine, mine would be too!

[identity profile] madismom.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
As long as you're feeling the baby and there's no cramping or bleeding, I'd say you're fine. I know it's scarey though.

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what I thought too. I called the doctor's office and they told me the same thing, so I'm not going to worry about it.

I'm with everyone else...I'm sure you're fine, but call your Dr so they have the incident on file, just in case. :)

[identity profile] stevesbabygirl.livejournal.com 2007-04-02 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I called and they assured me that I was fine, so I'm sure Steve feels much better now :).
