It looks like I really could be going to the hospital where my teacher works for my externship after all, yay :)! He was quizzing us all, using questions from the certifying exam, and I answered almost all of them correctly. Remember how I mentioned that I was upset that he didn't try to trick me during my final procedure? Well, he thought he was going to be clever and try it while he was quizzing us. So he asked how many cranial nerves there are. Big mistake; I know these like the back of my hand. Before he even finished the sentence, I told him 12 and proceeded to name all of them. He said he has never had a student who could name all 12, so needless to say, he was impressed. Score one for Heather :)! Then he said that I would do well at his hospital, that he knew I would be able to do a case, and that he would consider taking me, which was a huge compliment coming from him. I'm thrilled to have gained his confidence with this, and I really hope I am able to go there. That's one less thing for me to worry about. I already know where the hospital is, and where all the supply rooms are, so I would have no problem finding my way around. Plus, it's right across the street from The Block, so I could go shopping or grab a bite to eat on my lunch.
