Happy anniversary to me!
Feb. 18th, 2005 07:58 amYesterday marked the one year anniversary of me starting school. It’s been a year of going to school four nights a week, and basically killing myself to do well. Now, the end is in sight, and I’m so relieved. I’m anxious to start my externship and start getting some practical real world experience, because, let’s face it, operating on pieces of foam just isn’t the same.
The better news of the moment is that I have a five-day weekend from work, yay! Next week is Presidents/ski week, so the students have the whole week off, but we get three days. I also have Monday off from school. I plan on doing a whole lot of sleeping during my time off. It’s been a struggle to get up in the morning and come to work, and I figured that since we had all this time off coming, I wasn’t justified in taking any time off earlier.
People at work are being retarded today. Since we have this five day weekend coming up, everyone is scrambling to put a temporary voicemail greeting on their phones to let people know that we won’t be back in the office until Thursday. They’re making such a huge deal out of it too. They record the message, then go to someone else’s phone to call their own extension to make sure the message is there. And it’s not good enough to do it once, they have to call over and over again. It’s annoying. I don’t even think I’m going to put a temporary greeting on my phone. I’m such a punk :).
