I hope everyone is having a very happy Valentine’s Day today! Unfortunately for me, I have work and school today, so I won’t get to see much of my valentine :(. We had a good weekend together though, and might end up doing something this holiday weekend instead.

Friday night, it was pouring rain, and I went to have dinner with my friends. After much discussion about how much of a dick Steve is for flaking on me, I started to feel kind of bad. I’ve come to realize that it’s just not nice to talk about your husband that way. After dinner, we headed over to the Spectrum to meet up with Steve for dessert. He said that he almost turned around three times on the way down because it was raining so hard. Luckily, he decided to keep driving. We all had a great time, and ended up leaving at about 12:30am. Late night!

Saturday, tickets went on sale for The Killers at 10am. I got up at 10:15, and all three shows were sold out! I was so incredibly bummed. I’m going to have to call the local radio station and try to win them that way. After my disappointing experience with Ticketmaster, Steve and I hit the road to get our taxes done. Fun stuff. We’re getting a refund from Uncle Sam, so we’re happy campers, but we owe the state of California $125. Damn. We don’t have the exact refund amount yet, because one of our documents was missing information, but it’s going to be around $1500-2000. I should remind Steve to call about that. We’re going to have a really good year next year because we will have a full year of interest paid on the house.

After getting our taxes done, we stopped by my parents’ house for a bit. I haven’t seen or talked to them since my mom’s birthday in early January, so I felt a little bad about that. We went out to dinner at El Torito, which was so yummy, as always. We stayed for about another hour after dinner, and then headed home.

I think I witnessed a miracle on Saturday night. After much bribing on my part, I was able to convince Steve to watch Star Wars with me. He has never seen any of the trilogy, and he has never wanted to, which I think is utter blasphemy. He was good and watched the whole thing, but he hated it. No surprise there, but I think he might like The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi better. That is, if I can convince him to watch those as well.

Sunday, I was so lazy! I woke up when Steve’s alarm went off at 10 (yes, we love to sleep in) for his soccer game, but I could not get out of bed. I was just way too tired. He took off for his game, and left the game at 11:30 to go try out for a basketball team. He’s developed this sudden interest in playing basketball again, and it’s been driving him crazy that he hasn’t found a team. He finally found a league in Anaheim, so he went over there to try out and be placed on a team. He starts next Sunday, and he’s so excited, it’s cute. I took a shower, finished my Alias book, and basically parked my butt on the couch the whole day. When Steve got home, we ordered a pizza and watched “Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle.” It’s such a stupid movie, but it was hilarious.

After the movie, Steve went outside and did some yard work, cleaned up the newspapers, cleaned out the cat boxes, and took out the trash. And he did all of this without me asking! He’s been good about keeping the house clean in the past week too, which I find to be amazing. I wonder what he’s up to :).

Today, I’m at work, and I’m kind of bummed about it. I should have requested the day off so that I could spend some time with my honey, but I still would’ve had to go to school. Like I said earlier, maybe we’ll do something this weekend.
